EUROPEAN AND PGA TOUR GOLFER
Tom Young was the performance psychologist for Tommy Fleetwood, a professional golfer on both the European and PGA Tours, from 2017 to 2022.
In 2016, Fleetwood’s world ranking dropped to 188th. Reflecting on his game, he built a support team of coaches, all of whom he has known for a considerable time. Fleetwood embarked on a journey towards regaining his position at the top of the game. A key part of that journey has been a renewed focus on his mental approach, both on and off the course.

RACE TO DUBAI
In early 2017, Tommy won the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship and followed this up by winning the French Open in Paris, at what would be the scene of Europe’s 2018 Ryder Cup victory.
Impressive finishes at the World Golf Championship in Mexico and at the US Open helped Fleetwood win the ‘Race to Dubai’ and be crowned Europe’s number one golfer.
Winning after winning is no easy task, but 2018 started in the same way as 2017, with another victory in Abu Dhabi. A record-equalling round of 63 in the US Open saw Tommy narrowly miss out, finishing in second place.
An impressive year in both America and Europe culminated with Fleetwood reaching the world top ten and securing his place as a rookie in Europe’s Ryder Cup team.
RYDER CUP WINNER
Alongside Francesco Molinari, he was one half of the celebrated ‘Moliwood’ partnership at the Ryder Cup in Paris 2018. Together they became the first European pairing to go 4-0 over the first two days.
Individually, Tommy became the first rookie to do that too, putting his name in to the record books and, more importantly, making of a significant contribution to Europe regaining the Ryder Cup.
